The clouds opened above the observatory late last night (22 May). The clear area did not last very long but while it did, the sky was very steady. Being that steady, focus was much easier to accomplish and the clarity was obvious in the real time video output of the camera.
I don’t have any way to quantify how steady the seeing was yet, but it was one of the better nights based on the imagery. This image has the sharpest visible detail of any Jupiter picture that I have ever taken.
